Nearly a decade of my life was invested in the telecom industry.

Today I spent about half an hour with an old customer (I know old is relative andI guess I should say long time) working on her voicemail and phone system.  Now I want you to understand that I was in sales never a technician.

Oh BTW (by the way) I haven’t been in Telecom for at least 6 yrs.

The important thing is that she called me and asked for my help.  I knew I could help.  So I did.  Why didn’t she call the vendor that I used to work with? GONE.

Or the one that I referred her to after they went under?  He has been good but not great.  Besides he’s not solved her problem.

A better question is why did she call me?  After all these years.  I’d love to say its because I am great.  In fact I was able to solve part but not all of her problem today.  But it wasn’t because I’m great.  It was because she knew I would take care of her.  I would solve the problem one way or another.

Why?  Because that’s my nature and that is what she came to expect in my time as her vendor.  Why should 6 plus years have changed that?

A couple of important notes.  What are you afraid to ask for that people are willing to give?  

What kind of service are you giving today, that will live on long afteryour gone?

I believe that if you knew what I needed you’d be happy to help if you could.  I also believe that for you.  So ACT today on that belief and ask for what you want.
